Since when does abebooks stand for "Accelerated Book Exchange)"?

I agree that this is a dubious move on their part and will dilute their
message. They are a strong market force, but many of their smaller
accounts (such as I used to be) are already unhappy with them.

I expect they are looking at the new book market because they are in
perpetual pursuit of growth, and don't have pretty done what they can in
the antiquarian market.

It was extremely interesting to see that 20,000 books are sold daily
through the site. Thats 7.3 million books a year. I was sceptical, but a
little note on google makes it seem possible: They estimate Amazon's
sales of used books at 30 million.

I fail to see how this fits, with their proven business model. I go
to ABE for OP and Amazon for new. I just see this diluting ABE's
forte.

I can see small presses listing but it appears they already do but I
don't see Danielle Steel fans going to ABE for her latest. Just like
I don't go last night to Amazon for a 1902 edition of "The Climax,
What Might Have Been" by Charles Felton Pidgin".

The article mentions that ABE is employee owned. I thought it was
owned by Banes & Noble.

Am I wrong here or was it sold?
