....you spend hours waiting at the bus stop for one to come along and
then suddenly half a dozen turn up at the same time.
After what seemed like a barren eternity internet and bookshopwise, in
the last month I've managed to find copies of Amelia Edward's MISS
CAREW (scarce collection of mainly ghost stories), Weatherby Chesney's
THE ADVENTURES OF AN ENGINEER (uncommon collection of weird tales in
attractive period binding), J.E. Muddock's STORIES WEIRD & WONDERFUL
(1880s horror collection), Manville Fenn's THE SHADOW OF A MAN (triple
decker from the 1880s in which a mad scientist seeks to reanimate a
corpse in a mausoleum with horrifying consequences) and a rather sharp
copy of A C Benson's posthumous collection BASIL NETHERBY. And there
are even rarer ones in the post...!
Having said that, I'm still looking for those paperwraps copies of
TAMERLANE and ELEUSINIA.....
