The Dresden Files series Jim Butcher?
If so thoughts, opinions, raves, gripes.

Think they showed in one of my newsletters. At any rate
rounded up the first 3 from the library.

1. Storm Front
2. Fool Moon
3. Grave Peril

Thanks,
jajd

Yeah I read it I like the story but I kinda' didn't like the fact that
everytime he is close to solving a case (ie the finish of a book), our
protagonist ( Mr Dresden) is always on his last legs and torn to shreds by
the bad guy and then he gives a last gasp to take out the bad guy. I hope
his next book is something where comes to a new realization (IE has an
epiphany) where there is a weak spot that he can take advantage of to defeat
(and maybe identify) the bad guy.Like maybe where he finds that his familiar
spirit was being used by a power and the spirit comes to the the realization
his betrayal was not for the "greater good". Something like with a little
angst to make the stories a little more interesting.

I bought and read the first 2 late last year, and immediately bought
the next 4. I thought they were a fun read, with an interesting and
well though out universe to play in. The main character is the master
of very bad days (weeks, months...).

Kind of got bogged down at book 5, haven't got to 6, and while I'll
definately be getting book 7, I will not start buying them in hard
back.

So that makes it about 7.5 out of 10 as a series.
