(Recently published?) Novel set in India in 2050

Recently I browsed past a novel on the front display in my local library
that was set in India in the year (I think) 2050. I did not note the title
or author, but thought I would come back and look again later as it seemed
interesting.

As it happened, "later" turned out to be two weeks later and it was no
longer there. Nor could the trainee on the desk help me when I gave my vague
description of it.

A Google on terms like India, novel, 2050, has not thrown anything up.

Does anyone have any idea of the title or author?

Only vague possibility I can think of is "The Calcutta Chromosome" by
Amitav Ghosh, but I don't recall that being set in any particular year
.... it's also not exactly new - about three years old, I think. Worth
