page 117.

Someone in France is attempting to have a play (Le Bourgeois
Gentilhomme IIRC)perfomed at Chambord in order to heighten interest in
the arts, but the assistant director of Action Culturelle disagrees
saying:

"Apart from Phedre, Moliere is boring"

***

Correct me if the summary was incorrect Selene. I wrote down the
quote.

Yep, you got it right. A lot of the book may be over the heads of some
who are not familiar with France's current state of affairs. You can
imagine how hated Revel must be in some circles. I wonder who he is
going to vote for? Imagine your choices if you are a member of the
french electorate--Chicac the mob boss, LePen (24% last election) or
the looney america hating left...Let's remember though--#1 bestseller
in France. Maybe the France of Voltaire and the Rights of Man--the one
Paine and Jefferson loved--still has a wisp of a chance. I hope so.
I've been in love with France since I was six years old, and the last
few years have been very painful. I want to go back to Paris one day.
sigh.

Me too. But IIRC wasn't there a wacky book on 9/11 that also was the
#1 bestseller in France.

I think France is going to have big problems. With the Muslims and the
changes they have to make in their social and labor systems and the
aging of the non-Muslim population it doesn't look easy.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
