I've posted a full-length review of Tropic of Night on our web site at
http://www.reviewsofbooks.com/tropic_of_night/review

A woman, Jane Doe, is living in Miami and hiding from her husband who
has learned powerful sorcery in West Africa. The ritual murder of
pregnant women means he's in town and looking for her while using the
murders to build his own power. While this has the suspense and heat
of a mystery and a thriller, there are so many ideas packed into this
novel. It's the connection with the world and reaching out for love
and humanity that is the real theme here. An incredibly well-written
novel that is thought-provoking and fun to read.
