You were supposed to get from the experience whatever you got. Writers
and readers have a dialogue, but what's odd about it is that the
reader's the only one who hears both sides.
Roo was supposed to be an interesting character; you're ability to find
him likeable or not is a function of your tollerance for certain
character flaws, I suspect.
