Looking for a few SF book titles

        I read an article about a planned film based on
a book. The book was described as a satire about a future controlled by
corporations. These corporations would hire assassins to kill people who
didn't meet a desired demographic. I know it's vague. But any ideas
would help. I believe it was a recent book. I think I'd recognize the
title of I saw it.

        Over a year ago, I read a review of a book about
a guy who would make genetically engineered assassins. He decided to
include qualities he wanted in a woman in his latest creation and ends
up falling in love with her. Ring any bells?
          Finally, years ago I read a review of a
book that I believe was called "The Deux Machine". Has anyone heard of
this and do they know the author? Nothing comes up when I search the
title.
