A Scanner Darkly - I've seen it at last!

I had to go to Swiss Cottage to see it in Odeon. A small screen, no more
than 20 people present though it was a Sunday evening. So I get a
feeling why it's on limited release. Having said that I used to see even
less people on movies which had normal distribution.

I have to say that A Scanner Darkly movie is the truest adaptation of
Philip Dick's novel so far. Very close to the book apart from a few not
very essential points. Animated actors look bizarre sometimes,
especially in the beginning, but you get into it very quickly.

The movie feels very dark and disturbing, as the book itself. Because
the film is so close to the book, I felt bored in a few moments because
I knew what was going to happen. Though it did not bother me.

Overall, I think that the movie is a great adaptation of the book and
really gives justice to Philip Dick vision and even style.

I haven't seen it yet - but I will, being a PKD 'follower'-reader.
Do you think non-PKD readers will enjoy the movie? Will people who
haven't read the book enjoy the movie? (IYHO, of course).
