You're right. I misunderstood majorly. {smile} Thanks for straightening

Those were very popular indeed. {SMILE}

I'm sorry; I misunderstood what Purrt was saying earlier. Yes, graduate
school texts would be good candidates for POD. {Smile}

Very true. They could easily have made more money off us than they did.
All they had to do was stock stuff we wanted to eat. {Smile}

I see. They brag about the sales so much, it's obvious that they must
still be in the red for those films. {half-smile}

The theaters around here seem to try to keep the as long as feasible. My
parents and I were once the only viewers in the theater. I know it was an
early matinee, but we really hoped they had more viewers in later showings.

From what I saw, these were _not_ small print runs! These were basic,
intro-level criminal justice textbooks, from the major publishers
(Thompson, Allyn & Bacon, McGraw-Hill, Prentice, et. al.) And in some
cases, they would publish an "updated" textbook every year, with very
minor changes--mostly cosmetic ("oh, they changed that picture" or "that
chart/graph/timeline got changed around a bit").

I mean, I realize some fields have constant changes in the way things
are done, or in the thinking/theory/whatever, but when the instructors
have to change editions every two terms because the students can't get
the old one anymore............

Yeah, that was my biggest pissed off moment in the whole film. Because

That is getting changed frequently. They could have larger print runs if
they went a little longer between editions. {small smile}

The duck just now flew down and gave you $100. You twice said the magic
word: "textbook;" that explains the high price. No additional explanation
needed. 8-(
