SPOILERS DOWN BELOW

Last night I was watching a rerun of An American Werewolf in London
and found a remarkable similiarity between this movie and TOTBF, at
least part of it.

Werewolf
The main character, Jack Kessler, is attacked, along with his friend
who dies, by a werewolf on the moors of Northern England. He is taken,
unconcious, to a London hospital and remains unconscious for three
weeks. Once he regains consciousness he learns that he is being cared
for by a nurse named Alex. During his hospital stay he talks with
Alex about his being attacked by a huge wolf-like animal and that his
dead friend is making appearances in his hospital room telling him he
is now a werewolf and that he must kill himself before he kills
others. Alex thinks he is under a great deal of stress, but is quite
sane.
After he is discharged from the hospital Alex takes him back to her
flat to help him finish his recovery, and because she's worried about
him. Once in the flat she shows him around and makes her sexual
intentions known to him, which he is happy to accomodate.

TOTBF
Lestat is taken, unconscious, to a hospital after he passes out due to
pneumonia, where he remains unconscious for three days. Once he
regains consciousness he learns he is being cared for by a nurse/nun
named Gretchen. During his hospital stay he talks with Gretchen about
his being a vampire, all the things he has done, about seeing Claudia
while in hospital, and about switching bodies with the Body Thief.
Gretchen thinks Lestat is under a great deal of stress, but is quite
sane. After he is discharged Gretchen decides to take him back to her
flat to help him finish his recovery and because she is worried about
him. In the flat she makes her sexual intentions known to him, which
he is happy to accomodate.

Interesting coincidence.
Take care,
Ashe
