Hi all,
Don't take this the wrong way, but...does any one else get the impression
Stan (or someone else close to Anne) is bisexual? I mean, why else would
almost every major male character (at least in the Vamp Chrons) have homo/bi
tendancies? That is one of my biggest irks with her books.

Eeeep, just saw the post titled "Blackwood Farm complaint" and it answered
the question. Seems others read the same into her books as I do, if not the
same cause.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

My gay-dar was going off when I saw Stan interviewed on TV. But I could be
wrong.

Of course, Anne's son Christopher is gay.

Be well.

Neither Stan or Anne Rice are gay. Anne has said a hundred times that, though
she is a heterosexual woman, she has a bisexual mind and thinks in those terms.
Stan was heterosexual, as well, but not a brawny man. He was very gentle.
Anne's son Christopher Rice is openly gay. He is the author of two of his own
books.

Victoria, who wonders why you'd think anyone would take offense to your comment?

If you're really interested in such background material, you should try to
get a hold of a copy of Katherine Ramsland's Prism of the Night", a
biography of Anne's life. In it are described a lot of the thoughts and
feelings Anne had growing up about sexuality and androgyny, among many other
things.

I wasn't really that interested, just curious as to the why of her writing
most of her main male characters as homo/bisexual. Knew something had to be
up...with the Anne Rampling stuff.

Because people get offended by the silliest things nowadays. When I was in
college, there was a girl that filed a charge against a professor for using
the phrase "rule of thumb". The origins of the phase are that at one time,
in England (I think), a man could beat his wife with a stick the size of his
thumb, or smaller, but not larger. This nitwit feminazi was offended. Don't
know how it turned out, though.

I just saw this post. I always got the feeling her husband was gay/bi.
Especially after I heard Lestat was model after him. Lestat modeled after a
straight man? Ah, go fig.

I agree that it's certainly possible. Just because she denies it, doesn't
necessarily mean it's so. Also, lots of wives don't even know on a conscious
level that their husbands are bi.

Yeah, also, I think most humans are bi. I mean, we see beauty in both sex.
Also, most people have had sex with a member of the same sex atleast once.

Did you read the whole thread? It appears to be written by very young people.
Stan was heterosexual. Not everybody is gay or bi, but many people are. I
don't believe most people have experimented, but I do believe many do.

Anne has said, and I heard her with my own ears that, she is a bisexual THINKER.
She never had any desire to make love to a woman.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

If think about it, and ask around, most, and I'm not saying all I'm saying more
than haven't, have experimented with someone of the same sex.

She could have been lying. Also, how would she know if her husband was gay/bi?
He could keep it to himself. Yeah, a guy is going to go to his wife and say,
"Before I met you I had sex with a guy. So, um, incase you ever become a famous
writer you can tell people I'm bi."

And you have asked most people, not all, mind you, but most? Has your mother
slept with women? Has your father slept with men?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
