I was hesitant in starting this book, because it is part one of a story,
but I enjoyed it, and it does come to some conclusion.
Voyager is tootling along when it sees a large but slow ship trying to
escape an unusual area of space, with traumatic results. The crew take the
survivors back home, and become involved in their problems (as usual), and
BšElanna and Seven become stranded on the planet, while Voyager becomes
stuck in some other dimension, in a fold of space.
The plot is science fiction, and the characterisation is interesting. My
only problem with the novel, unreasonably, is that it is more complex than
the actual television episodes, and involves relationships between Torres
and Seven of Nine which would need to be referred to again. Also Voyager
loses crew members. They canšt afford to lose many crew during the novels!
Altogether, I enjoyed the book a lot.
