Archived from groups: rec>collecting>books (more info?)

Hello everyone

Does anyone have a copy of Goldstone & Payne handy? I have what seems
to be a first UK edition of In Dubious Battle, Heinemann 1936, in dust
jacket. The rear panel has two reviews of Tortilla Flat, noting the
price of that book at 7s. 6d. net, and mention of To A God Unknown,
7s. 6d. However, the spine has a price of 3s. 6d. net printed below
the author's name (not a sticker). The book has "First published 1936"
on the copyright page with no mention of a later printing. The jacket
is by Youngman Carter.

I suspect the book is OK, but the jacket has been repriced. Does
anyone have any other information about this edition?

Thanks
Lyndon
