I once read a story by the Good Doctor that was filled with puns and one of
the lines in it was "give my big hearts to Maude, Dwayne." I know that line
is a pun of "Give my regards to Broadway" but Asimov punned the entire song.
It was an incredible exercise in writing and I'd love to know the name of
the story so I can find out which anthology it's in.

Thanks

John

Found it. Death of a Foy.

That would be the story DEATH OF A FOY in the collection THE WINDS OF
CHANGE. It first appeared in the Oct. 1980 issue of F&SF. It's a short
story, barely 2 pages long.

Death of a Foy was just one of many of the Good Dr.'s outstanding
humorous short stories. And very short, most of them under 3 pages.
You also might like "About Nothing", "A Sure Thing" and my favorite,
although it didn't end in a pun was "How it happened". All in "Winds
of Change".

I am sure there are others, but I can't locate them right now,,,

Asimov was keen on puns though not as keen as Piers Anthony

Somewhere in my collection though I cannot find it at the moment is a very
short story that finishes, also after only a couple of pages with the ending

The story you're thinking of is "A Loint of Paw." You can find it in
_Asimov's Mysteries_.
