I recently picked up a huge collection that included many nice
paperbacks (new old stock). The problem is that these had set stacked
up for the last 20 years in less than ideal storage conditions
(southern US summers). Many are simply stuck together (front cover to
back cover of the next book).
Is there any trick to separating these? Heat? Like maybe a microwave
oven, regular oven, hair dryer. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Good luck, you're going to need a bunch of it to salvage those PB. I
have never been successful in separating books that have either been
subjected to humidity, heat or weight (or any combination of the
three). My experience is that the ink or the coated paper softens and
bonds too tightly to separate.
