Susan update 7/11/07

Hi all,
Well, Dad is still having problems with his
kidneys so he got dialysis yesterday. Let's just pray
that works fast so he doesn't have to keep going
through it. I now know much more about dialysis than
I ever wanted to know!
If it doesn't work they'll repeat it every day or
every other day until his kidneys start working on
their own.
His heart and blood pressure seem to be okay now,
thank God.
Mom seems better since the tracheostomy...more
awake and responsive. So that's good. But she still
has some kind of infection. When that clears up,
she's going to be transferred to a rehab facility
where hopefully she can make progress in physical,
occupation, and speech therapy and also eventually get
off the ventilator and feeding tube. But, at least,
things look hopeful for her. She is responding to
commands about 85% of the time now and using the "bad"
leg and arm. She also did much better on the
breathing test after the trache. So the prayers are
working.
