Here's an article from Sweden's newspaper Aftonbladet that looks like it has
quotes, but can't tell if it's something we haven't seen before in English:

http://www.aftonbladet.se/vss/kultur/story/0,2789,389294,00.html

Any Swedish Vonnegut fans in here that could inform us?

Well, it certainly does look like there's a reference to his birthday at the
beginning of the article, and I also see references to, and quotes on, his
novel in progress; semicolons (these things =>>>); music being "proof" of
God's existence; Isaac Asimov being in Heaven now and his hope that people
will say the same thing about him after he dies; "Occurance at Owl Creek
Bridge" by Ambrose Bierce; _The Mask of Sanity_; and his having spoken at
the University of Wisconsin in Madison on September 22nd. Come to think of
it, my best guess is that this is just a summary of, and series of extracted
quotes from, his UW speech as published in _In These Times_.

Hi all!
Big fan here! I only drop in here occasionally.
My favorite is Galapagos
Biggest disappointment is Earthquake

At the end of the above article there's a square with the following
text

This translates (approximately) to

Auther's note
I'm writing a novel, If God Were Alive Today, about a made up man, Gil
Berman, who is 36 years younger than I am and who has a habit of
standing up in college auditoriums and crack some jokes and so on.
The follwoing are some excerpts from what I said from the podium at
the University of Wisconsin in Madison on the evening of the 22. of
September 2003, just as we are using up the very last bits and drops
and puffs of fossil fuel. (end of translation)

Sorry if I abuse the english language.

Merry Xmas to all Vonnegut fans

Sorry, forgot...

Headline reads
"They are nuts and now they are seizing power"

The text to the left of the picture reads

KURT VONNEGUT, who gets 81 years old today, gives a lesson about the
present, confused marsians and his new book.

Hello and welcome.

That certainly confirms my suspicions about it being a reprint of the In
These Times article. Thank you.

Great translation! I can definitely recognize Vonnegut in it.
Thanks, and well done.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
