Jesse did 45+ minute commute (75+ in the rain) from S San Jose to Palo
Alto for 4 years, we moved to Sunnyvale and cut that in half for a year,
and then with a job switch and move back to San Jose, it was only 15.
Then he went back to the old job (they contacted him with a very nice
offer) and it's been back to the same old commute since Christmas, since
we basically signed a new lease on this place a week before the offer
came in. *sigh* We seriously wish that we'd gone month-to-month for a
little while and moved ASAP since now we're stuck with it until
September, and rents in the area have gone up $300/month in 6 months! By
the time our lease is up, we may not be able to afford anything closer
without making a big sacrifice in apartment size or the kind of
neighborhood! Geesh!
So sometimes, even with a good-paying job, you have to get used to a
commute!
