I just got done reading it, and, while I enjoyed it for the most part,
I felt let down by the ending. While I was reading, I imagined all of
these different possibilities of what happened to Lulubelle (L.T. lied
and killed her; his friend, the storyteller, killed her; the cat
killed her; etc.), and all I got was "She's probably dead, but she
might not be." Anyone else felt disappointed?

I was expecting the ending (particularly the last paragraph) to be
some kind of horrific revelation. If there's something in the ending
that I'm overlooking, please let me know.

Thanks.

Mark

It revealed that not all stories will end like "The Bogeyman". In such a
vast literary career, the twist just may be to not provide what the reader
expects.

Who doesn't actually remember the ending, what with having a little trouble
focusing and all. Smile<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
