I recently upgraded my email/ng reader from 1.0.6 to 1.0.7. It has a
definite conflict with Norton Firewall. I had to turn off FW (for 5
minutes, I'm typing fast) to even get to log in.

Aaron, who has reloaded TBird from scratch, no preferences. Yet.

I'm not familiar with Norton, since I have a distaste for most of their
products, but there's got to be a setting somewhere in that Firewall to
authorize T'Bird to pass. There are other folks that run both T'Bird
and Norton - hopefully one of them can pipe up with the answer. T'Bird
probably just changed enough that you have to reauthorize it. The trick
is going to be finding out how.

Good luck!

I posted to a Mozilla forum and got an answer...delete all rules for
individual programs and let it learn them all over again. This has the
benefit of erasing all the garbage from the list.

It was actually set right, but between the two something was hanging, I
could not even get Thunderbird to die in Task Manager using 'End Process'.

It now works.
