I'm drawing a blank here. Is the "W" (logo) blindstamp for Warner Books
standard fare, or Book Club ID?

Generally yes, if the blindstamp is a logo that is usually a sign of a trade
edition. The bookclubs of such books are usually blank with no blindstamp.
