Timequake music

Hello.

Recently I was listening to the Timequake audiobook (4 cassettes, read
by Lawrence Pressman). I was wondering if anyone can help me indentify
the music playing at the beginning of the book? This tune also appears
as a 30 sec intro on William's Welcome, the first track of William S.
Burroughs' Dead City Radio spoken word album.
