Some of them do have bad acting - no question about it. But Green Mile,
Stand By Me, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption are good examples of
where they've been done well. Let's keep hoping - the later productions
have the best results imnsho.

It might have been a dismal failure but for Mr. Depp. He saves the film and
makes it very watchable. Not a terrific film, but in the top 33% of King
adaptations. Turturro is good in it, too.

I **REALLY** like Johnny Depp, and frankly, I wouldn't watch a rerun even to
see him. Of course, the story never was one of my favorites.[1]
[1] Anyone remember our argument about the meaning of "not my favorite"
here...or was it elsewhere?
