Does anyone remember any substances, minerals, etcetera, that tend to interfere
with scanners and transporter beams? I'm sure the various crews have
encountered such obstacles in the past, but my memory isn't coming up with any
specific examples.

Thanks in advance!

Of course I could be hallucinating or misremembering, but I think that
Kemacite (sp) Ore was in the mountains on the Ba'ku (sp) planet in
Insurrection. I believe that only interfered with sensors as the
Enterprise crew were using transport inhibitors.

Hmm. Maybe I'll have to go back and check out INSURRECTION again. Thanks!

I looked it up: it was "kelbonite" that interfered with the sensors in
INSURRECTION; "kemacite" was the stuff Quark was smuggling in "Little Green
Men."

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, though.
