FS: The Truth About Drugs Booklet Series

This booklet will give you the information you need to start a Say No
to Drugs, Say Yes to Life drug education and prevention activity in
your area.

The key to the success of this program is participation. Nobody,
especially a teenager, likes to be lectured about what he or she can
or cannot do. Thus, we provide the facts that allow a person to make
an informed decision to remain drug-free and join in activities that
popularize drug-free living. These activities are simple, but
effective and can involve people of all ages.

Most of these actions center around distributing the information
contained in our Truth About Drugs publications; they have been
distributed for years in many countries with great success. They were
compiled following a search to find factual drug prevention literature
geared to young people--straightforward, understandable facts that
could be simply understood. Very little was found, and so individual
Scientologists set out to remedy that lack. The Truth About Drugs
series of booklets resulted, covering the most dangerous of common
street drugs.

For over two decades, thousands of members of Scientology churches and
other volunteer organizations in more than 50 countries have conducted
effective drug prevention programs under the banners "Say No to Drugs,
Say Yes to Life" and, for younger students, "Drug-Free Marshals" or
"Drug-Free Ambassadors." They have distributed over 50 million
effective educational handouts and held tens of thousands of drug
awareness events, thus enabling people around the world to understand
the destructive effects of drugs and decide for themselves not to use
them.

In response to an ever-increasing demand for these programs, the
Foundation for a Drug-Free World was established to further expand
these activities. The Foundation is a Los Angeles, California-based
secular, non-profit corporation. Its purpose is to empower youth and
adults with the truth about drugs, enabling them to make an educated
decision to say no to drugs and help others do the same.

The most effective weapon in the war on drugs is education. With your
help, we can get the message out far and wide: "Say No to Drugs, Say
Yes to Life".
