| Did I miss something, or was McCoy's reason for leaving the X-men never
fully explained? His death seemed so pointless, I have often wondered if he
isn't alive somewhere. The new death perhaps? Or, an future Ultimate?

It never really was explained...I think they just needed a way to set
up his death and didn't want to bother to come up with an actual
reason...his death did seem pointless but I never really liked the
ultimate version of the character so i didn't care that much...still,
I liked Storm with him a lot more than with Wolverine...I just can't
understand how writers expect us to believe women would find the guy
so attractive...he's a hairy serial killer who gets torn apart on a
regular basis and the ultimate version, though taller than the
original, is far less likable (he tried to kill Cyclops not all that
long ago)...but I digress. >> Stay informed about: Ultimate Beast |

That and there has been at least two example that I can think of which have
implied that Wolverine isn't short everywhere. Couple that with the
endurance of someone with a heaing factor and well...

That was the way it played out, although in practical terms it also
freed up some roster space and removed an obstacle to the storm/wolvie
relationship. It'd have been interesting to see Wolverine and Beast
dook it out a little, though... And given wolverine's earlier
shennanigans, its kinda weird that noone is raising eyebrows.
In terms of explanations... I've always wondered if this is going to be
played as the Ultimate version of the "Angel of Death" storyline from
X-factor, only instead of the Angel of Death, we get the Beast as the
apocalyptic villain previously believe to have been killed. >> Stay informed about: Ultimate Beast |

Perhaps but they would only know that after the fact...as MJ states in
the latest MK Spiderman, something to the effect of "You thought I'd
be attracted to that hairy midget?" >> Stay informed about: Ultimate Beast |

Wasn't it because he felt jealous of Storm and the other girls'
reactions to Angel? I think his leaving fit pretty well with the
personality they'd established for him so far. >> Stay informed about: Ultimate Beast |
