It would look odd to the kids if she wasn't invited, many of whom seem to be
quite fond of her, or at least consider her "cool". (see recent New Mutants
issues) Not to mention that Hank, Logan, Bobby, Paige and Jubilee all have
been established as being fond of her for one reason or another. Oh, plus,
no one would want to piss off Scott by saying no. I can think of only three
people who would outright complain, and that's Kitty, Storm and Tessa, and
all three have been shown to be able to (grudgingly) tolerate her in small
doses. Hell, the "Schism" arc in X-Treme showed Storm and Emma gaining some
grudging respect for one another.

Yeah, I've heard of the hound thing...but we also had Sinister get a sample
of Rachel's blood and confirm that she is a Summers, although the genetic
makeup is slightly different due to the fact that she is from an alternate
timeline....which could also be the reason why Scott couldn't track her when
he was a hound. So the real question isn't why couldn't Scott track Rachel,
but why could Sue track Franklin?

Considering how Marvel has treated Franklin in the past, maybe there
is only one Franklin across all alternate timelines. Maybe they might
look different, but are connected in a way that no other alternate
universe character is. He could be the center and foundation of the
Marvel Universe...
Or the writer just wanted it vague as to whether Scott was really
Rachel's father. Or it had something to do with the Phoenix Force.
Hey, maybe Logan is actually a member of the Summers family? That's
a fairly Marvel thing to do as well...<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Uncanny #444 preview comments |

That's an interesting idea...and in those few pages I can see that there
were some friction between them...Rachel could be seeing Emma as "evil
step-mother"

It also fits with the closeness she has shown with Kitty (one of the
die-hard Emma-haters) over in the final X-Treme issue- solidarity with her
girlfriend, and all that.

Don't forget that Scott and Jean did raise Nathan in the future as "Slim"
and "Red" so they did raise a child together.

Just thought, maybe she started calling herself Rachel Grey when she was
incognito in college.

Depends if she wanted to be claimed as a dependant of maybe Grandma & Grandpa Grey, Jean's
parents so she could go to State College on a 'Resident Tuition'?

It wouldn't surprise me, with the track record the X-Man have with creating

I wouldn't like it, but it wouldn't really surprised me either...and that
would give the Rachel-is-Wolvie's-daughter supporters the reason why she is
also genetically a Summers. So how about this: Wolverine is Scott, Alex,
and Gambit's great grand father, Sabertooth is Wolverine's brother,
Wildchild is Sabertooth's son, FOH Creed is Wolverine's nephew, Cable is
Wolverine's great-great-grandson, Corsair is absent from he new Starjammers
series because he is populating the entire Shi'ar galaxy with Summerses
(in case you don't catch it, I'm not the least bit serious about this)

I like to think that there's at least one universe where Jean had more

Except that was never really true. She was using her telekinesis to
hold herself together. Rachel did that long enough to be taken in by
Spiral.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Uncanny #444 preview comments |
