Alaska and Vermont has secessionist movements going and the
Lakota Sioux have already formed their own country called Lakotah.

Obviously a Canadian Konspiracy, fomenting unrest in the northern
hinterlands (IIRC, the Lakota ended up in the North, didn't they?
The Dakotas? Montana?). Bad timing on the Canucks part. Bush
needs as many distractions as he can get, and has proven he'll go
to war on a dime. Mr. Bush's War of Southern Aggression will be
shorter lived than Mr. Lincoln's War of Northern Aggression.
Vermont is not a hotbed of military power, an embargo on he
Lakotah casinos will put paid to their effort, as will a similar
embargo on the Alaskan citizens' Prudhoe Bay/Northern Slope oil
payments. This one will be a lot cheaper than OIF IM (or
whatever Roman numeral phase OIF has currently reached), both in
lives and $$$s.
