Few questions for Mr. Feist,

What are you working on currently?

Can you update us any as to the status of the text based game?

When (if ever) are you planning on writing Krondor : The Crawler and Krondor
: The Dark Mage? ( or have those books befallen the same fate as the
unwriten book between The Kings Buccaneer and Shadow of a Dark Queen?)

Flight of the Nighthawk, Darkwar Saga I and a TV pilot (about which
I'm limited as to what I can say; not fantasy).

You'd have to check their web site.

I may never write those books due to contractual issues between myself
and Sierra On-line.

The same story, however, may be told in a stand alone novel that will
not be written for at least several more years.

The reality of trying to make a living to support my family often has
more to do with publishing choices at my end, and from the publisher's
point-of-view how they can make the best use of the market decides many
of their decisions.

Well since you once gave me a run down of the unwriten book between The
Kings Buccaneer and Shadow of a Dark Queen, could you give me some idea of
the stories within "The Crawler" and "The Dark Mage". The First I have a
pretty good idea from the descriptions in other books but the latter I only
have a few small ideas.

Sorry. I don't have the time, and I still might write a book to fill
that gap someday.

Infact I do.

"The book you're asking about was going to be called Return of the
Buccaneer. You can get some sense of what was going to be in it in the
scene in Shadow of a Dark Queen where Erik overhears Bobby and Nakor
talking on Sorcerer's Island.

Basically, the story would have acted as a bridge between the King's
Buccaneer and the Serpentwar Saga. It would have introduced Miranda,
Bobby, and featured Calis, as well as chronicaled the trip down to
Novidus.

The farther I get from that decision to not do the book (my new
publisher, Morrow/Avon wanted something that was clearly a "book 1" of
a new series), the less I regret having not done it.

It would have been a very dark story, and would have left the reader
with a lot of question marks. Miranda's history would not have been
provided, so she would have been a mystery for one extra book until
Rage. A lot of characters would have died, and mostly it would have
been a story of Calis and Bobby surviving a disaster, with very little
sense of triumph.

Anyway, that was quite a while back now, and I'm working on volume 1 of
The Darkwar Saga, Flight of the Nighthaws."
