Get out there and do it! What are you waiting for?

Voting is a right and a privilege that too many people on the planet
still do not possess, even folks who have three squares a day, a dry
place to lay their heads at night, and someone to love.

I live in Oregon, where we enjoy the luxury of having weeks to fill
out and turn in our ballot. I voted 2-1/2 weeks ago -- put my ballot
in the mail on Oct. 16 -- and it looks like many of my fellow
Oregonians did the same. The news last night said turnout through
yesterday was already up to 67 percent!

But there were long lines at the county election headquarters
consisting of people who had screwed up their ballot and needed a
replacement, or had never received it in the first place. Waiting 'til
the last minute is NOT a good idea.

This is it, folks. The big one.
