Vintage Garden Flower Seasonal Book Set of 4, c. 1917

The following is a 1917 Vintage complete set of Books on Seasonal Garden
Flowers. These books are titled, (Pocket Garden Library, Garden Flowers
of - Summer -- Autumn --- Winter - Spring ). They are written by Ellen Eddy
Shaw and Edited by Leonard Barron, and published by Doubleday, Page, &
Company, Garden City, New York, First Edition, Copyright 1917. The books
are a 4 Volume set (Volume 4 is written by Montague Free, the other Volumes
written by Ellen Eddy Shaw). They were from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
The books measure 3 ½ inches x 6 inches and range from 200 to 250 pages
(each Volume has slightly different number of pages). Each page has a hand
drawn colored illustration of the various types of flowers grown during that
season. Each illustration has the name of the flower, its scientific name
and a full description of the flower. They are all in very good condition
with no loose or torn pages. There is no water damage. The spine is weak,
but can still easily be opened and read without fear of the pages coming
loose. The Spring Volume is missing the front cover. These are nice
reference books with beautiful pictures of the many types of flowers.
