WITHDRAWN AGAIN !!!!? Re : John Garth's Book ' Tolkien and..

Hi all

This is the 4th time the release date has been moved .... this time very
suddenly ..... most on-line UK shops e.g Amazon UK still state today's
release date 20th October 2003.

HarperCollins UK have withdrawn it from there main site today though they
still show it on their Tolkien site <www.tolkien.co.uk> with today's
release date !

VERY FRUSTRATING !!!!! I was very much looking forward to reading this book
!

I've emailed HC enquiring WHY but does anyone know whats going on ?

The Tolkien Estate has had a long history of "cooperating" with good
biographers -- Humphrey Carpenter, Wayne Hammond, Christina Scull, and
John Garth spring to mind immediately. But no amount of "cooperation" is
going to stop unscrupulous folks from seeking to capitalize on Tolkien's
name. They are with us always. As you yourself note.
