WWII Era Bremen Port Command Military Newspaper
This WWII Era Bremen Port Command Military Newspaper, titled (Bremen Port
Commander), is in excellent condition. It is a weekly overseas newspaper
published at Bremen Germany by the Public Relations Office Bremen Port
Command. The newspaper is Vol 11, No. 6, dated January 25, 1946. It
measures 12 inches x 15 inches. It is a 4-page newspaper and includes local
German articles and world news. The paper has articles to include 90%
Czechoslovakia goods handled through the Bremen Port, the De-Nazification of
German industry, public offices and professions, Bremen Port Command
soldiers with 53 points enabling them to leave back home, The German
Submarine Pens at Farge, The exposure of six additional German Concentration
Camps by the Timberwolf Division in the Bremen Area (with a listing of the
camps). This article features a tragic reality that (..near the end of the
war, the inmates of the various camps were ordered to Belsen for
asphyxiation, but the orders were changed in favor of mass drowning. Three
ships carried 3,000 prisoners out to sea when the ships were scuttled only
some 98 were saved...). There are also cartoons and articles on sports and
local events and festivals, movie schedules for the week and more. The
newspaper has two folds, one across the horizontal and one across the
vertical. It is in excellent condition with no holes or tears, soiling or
any other damage. The paper can be handled easily without fear of crumbling
or tearing. This is a great addition to any grouping featuring European
theatre allied occupation
