If any of you could help me, please find a sentence from the book
'Surprised by Joy.' Since I read this book in Korean, I am trying to
translate back into English. In the 2nd last chapter, Lewis wrote "A
mature person can serve the immature humbly and an earnest student
share his/her time with others."

It would be appreciated if you find me the exact sentence in English.

Thanks.

Thank you Christopher.
I think this is exactly what I want. The orignial sentence looks much
better than translation.

I think it is this:
"I found, as always, that the ripest are kindest to theraw and the most
studious have most time to spare."

This sentence appears in Chapter XIV, "Checkmate." The context is CSL's
early academic career, and he is thaniing his official and unofficial
teachers. The paragraph begins "As the plot quickens and thickens
toward its end,..."

At least the version that you presented was a reasonable if literal
translation of what CSL meant. The whole subject of retranslation reminds
me of a novel which describes a game based on slight (mis)translations from
one language to another and back, e.g. "battering ram" comes out as
"hydraulic sheep"

Another like that is "out of sight, out of mind" turning into
"invisible lunatic". It's a hazy memory, but I think that's an actual
result of an early computer translation program. I think it is
mentioned in Carl Sagan's "The Dragons of Eden".
