Jim-- for one, I wasn't expecting it to be without dust-jacket. Secondly,
when I first saw the illustration of the cover (others can see it at
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.nightshadebooks.com/hodgson1.html" target="_blank">http://www.nightshadebooks.com/hodgson1.html</a> ) I presumed it was the
dust-jacket, and I thought: "Hmmm. Not what I would hve expected to see on
Hodgson, but it has possibilities." But the book itself seemed diappointing
in its physical make-up because there is so much silver that it all becomes
a blur, and glares under the light. And then when you see what is a very
similar illustration printed in black and white on the title, it's striking,
and makes the binding seem so disappointing.
I suppose that if you like Franklin Library bindings (I don't), you'll like
this one. But to me it seems like a K-mart version of a Franklin Library
book. Sorry, but that's my reaction.
