Post subject: Winston Graham has died
Archived from groups: rec>arts>books, others (more info?)

I haven't seen anything posted in rec.arts.books* about this. Winston
Graham, the author of the "Poldark" books, died on July 11 at the age
of 93.

Here's a pointer to a lengthy obituary posted to alt.obituaries:

http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=beb1d3e8.0307102138.3c08ea71%40po...ng.goog

Like many other people, I was introduced to "Poldark" through the TV
series in the 1970's, but it was the books and the quality and technique
of the writing that got me hooked, particularly in the early books in the
series. These books are like old friends to me now.... how fortunate
that we will always have them even though their author is now gone.
