Okay, just reading the Wisdom Trade (very good btw, lookign forwards
to his run on New Excalibur now), loived the mention of the Knights Of
Pendragon!
But a major question arose.
When did Alastaire Stuart get so OLD!! He was a contemporary of
Rachel/Kitty, possibly Brian during the Cross Time Caper, so when did
he become an old balding man?
Did I miss something? is this is father/uncle? Artistic screw up?

Well, he never was a contemporary of Rachel and Kitty, and likely not even
of Brian. His twin sister was a Brigadier. You don't attain that rank at
a 'young' age, so Alisdair and Alysdane had to be at least in their 40s at
the time of Excalibur. Rachel and Kitty were both teenagers at that time,
at least physically. Brian was in his 20s, so still somewhat younger than
the Stewarts. Age-wise, Alisdair and Rachel as a couple would correspond
if, on Buffy, Giles and Faith had gotten together. ("Raise your hands if

While you're right, on average, there have been 20-something and 30-
something Brigadiers (the youngest was 24 when promoted to that rank,
though that was during or just after wartime). The Stuarts were
absolutely depicted much, much younger originally, though definitely
not contemporaries of Kitty. At most, I'd put them originally at only
slightly older than Brian.
Also, Alistaire got a lot more beefier. Originally, he was a pencil-
necked, geeky guy. >> Stay informed about: Wisdom |

It's a MAX book...not bound by the laws of normal
continuity...anything goes...which is why I'm bit worried about him
taking over Excalibur...that and the fact that he's planning to change
the line up (which I'm pretty happy with)...still, I'm cautiously
optimistic...I'm just hoping he doesn't dump the current roster to
bring in all the characters from the mini...I wouldn't mind
appearances here and there but I don't find any of the others (besides
Wisdom) particularly interesting as ongoing characters. >> Stay informed about: Wisdom |

I always remembered him as the older guy, grey hair and portly. I always liked
him that way, as he was of the 'old guard' fighting for a bit longer than our
greenhorn Excaliber team. Made more sense as part of his role as the
'establishment'.

That's precisely not how Alistaire was when he first appeared in very
early EXCALIBUR. >> Stay informed about: Wisdom |

Yeah, I know. I do recall two versions, an older guy, and one younger one who
flirted with Rachel.

Wasn't the one that flirted with Rachel actually someone else all
together? Rory something (I think)...the guy whose alternate future
self was Ahab...or was Alistaire keen on redheads with mullets too? >> Stay informed about: Wisdom |
