When Peter, Edmund, Susan, and Lucy were at the Beavers', they were told
that it had long been foretold that 2 Sons of Adam and 2 Daughters of
Eve would defeat the White Witch and sit on the four thrones at Cair
Paravel. The White Witch knew of the prophecy, so she ordered her
subjects to inform her of any humans they found skulking in the woods,
and when Edmund showed up, she asked him to bring his brother and two
sisters to her so that she could kill them and abort the prophecy. Why
didn't she simply send her giants to smash those four thrones so that no
one could sit in them to fulfill the prophecy about Adam's flesh and
bone sitting in those thrones?
