1. Charles Xavier is able to walk.

2. Lucifer crushes his legs under a block of stone, and he's confined
to a wheelchair.

3. After Xavier is infected by the Brood, the Starjammers clone him
another body, and he transfers his mind over. Since the new body wasn't
injured, he can walk again.

4. But oh no! The Shadow King breaks his spine. He's paralysed again.

5. Wait! "Xorn" heals him.

6. Hold on, it's just Magneto using nanites. He can't walk after all.

Back in the Roy Thomas run in the 1960s, Xavier just did the sensible
thing and used some Kirbytech to build himself some leg braces so that
he could walk. After Xavier supposedly died fighting Grotesk, the idea
was never mentioned again. You'd think he'd get around to rebuilding
them...

He was cloned, then he was shot, then he was "healed" (but actually had
his spine propped up by nanobots), and then unhealed (had the nanobots
removed).<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Big rock crushed his legs in a fight. Body got destroyed by Brood. Shi'ar
cloned new one with good legs and put his brain in it. Black King broke his
back in psychic scrap.

Which time?
Initially he was in a wheelchair until he had his consciousness
transferred to a cloned body (via Shi'Ar technology). The cloned body
was subsequently recrippled by the Shadow King when he was in
possession of Xavier's son Legion during the Muir Island Saga that
preceeded the launching of the second X-MEN title.

More recently, Xavier was seemingly cured by a Chinese mutant healer
named Xorn in Grant Morrison's run on NEW X-MEN. Xorn was eventually
revealed to be an imposter who had used nanotechnology to simulate
restoring Xavier to full health. When the Faux Xorn was revealed he
removed the nanotech from Xavier returning him to his former state of
being confined to a wheelchair.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Yes, a mind-powered exoskeleton which was conveniently so draining that
he could only rarely use it.

yea he did he had a shi'ar designed body suit that ran off his mental
powers even though keeping up that level of power drained incredibly

Which seems to me a convenient explanation for why the thing never popped up
after Xavier was first presumed dead. Fabe strikes me as the kind of writer
who may even have thrown the explanation in there for just that purpose. It
could even be theorised that while Xavier was able to use the mechanical
legs in the early days, Magneto's realignment of the EM field made it harder
for him to do so afterwards.

Though as they have an Omega Class healer in Elixir of the New Mutants, you
have to wonder why (At least the Morlock Healer had the excuse that his
powers were very, very limited, Josh seems to heal anyone of anything simply
by making physical contact)<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

That's why they shipped Xavier off to Genosha so we won't complain about it
*too* much. Still no excuse why Gambit is blind though.

I wonder if Warren's healing blood will be mentioned again after Austen
leaves.

Seems to be so he can "see" pretty pictures on his cards.

tying the two together, wasn't Warren supposed to be heading off to Genosha
back when Reload was starting?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Or if we'll ever figure out why Warren didn't just use his healing blood
on Gambit.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Warren's out of the mansion, isn't he? En route to Genosha, i'd thought,
but nothing's come of that. has he showed up anywhere since that
Austen-written issue of Reload where they divvied up the teams?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
