Looking for a book

A long time ago, I read a book that was set in Tampa Florida about a man
who was bitten by a vampire and subsequently became one. All I remember
about it for sure is that he got blood from terminal patients at the
hospital, and he slept under a bridge by the Hillsborough River.

Can anyone help me find this book? At least the name and or author? TIA!
