I am looking for a book that I read many years ago. I have no idea who the
author is or what the title is, but if any of you think you recognise it,
please drop me a line.

Here is what I remember.

It starts out with an, unhappy and disillusioned young woman in the modern
world who wakes up in a mideval setting. The setting is very Irish in theme
and she glows with some sort of holy light because she is chosen by the moon
goddess Brigit.

She soon meets up with a dark haired fellow and they sort of fall in love.
He takes her to his mother's house and apparently his mother is some sort of
earth serpent. He has a fair-haired brother who is not very nice and to
avoid him, our heroine uses her magic to turn herself to stone. The stone
situation is reversed, of course.

The couple manage some shapeshifting and other magics and her job is to sort
of bring light back to the world and save it.

Isn't this more of a fantasy novel? It does sound familiar though.... I'll
try to find out what it is.
