When I was but a young drakelet, I read and enjoyed the books of Arthur
Ransome. Now I am trying to get hold of them again; but, because I am an
inconvenient and stubborn drake, I want the editions I had as a child.
Those are the Puffin paperbacks of early 1970s' vintage, with covers
that look like this:

Thanks to a villager who may at his or her discretion identify his- or
herself, I now have a copy of _Swallows and Amazons_ itself in this
edition. If any villagers have copies of the other books they'd be
prepared to sell, please get in touch with me...

Yes. Might take a while to find though.

A mix-up at Central Time Dispatching. They should never have put Wayne
on the switches.

Do you know about Abebooks?

<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.abebooks.com/" target="_blank">http://www.abebooks.com/</a>

They filled just such a need for me by finding the Pooh books in the right
edition.

Brightly_coloured_blob is real, so as not to upset the sys-apes, but I don't
actually read anything sent to it before I empty it. To reach me, use lesley

I know of them, but haven't used them; and since there seems to have
been some overlap of the "right" covers with other ones, I can't just
give a year of publication for each book... thanks for the thought,
though, and I'll try them on ones that Villagers are unable to
produce...
