Enjoy what you like to read, but if you want any credibility around
here, you will have to present well researched and well reasoned
arguments to support your thesis.

Not all of them! The first ones in the Honor series are pretty good, but lately the
quality has slipped noticeably.
OTH the March series, with Eric Flint are crap.
And speaking of this being a free country, if you don't like the criticism feel free to
exercise the right of blocking senders!

Please don't feed the troll.
It posted essentially the same message in alt.books.george-fraser
recently, insulting the "Flashman" books.
Except it was a little more offensive to the Fraser books.

I don't...this isn't rasfw or one of the other general groups, this
group is specifically for DW -- I don't think that anyone coming HERE
to post is looking for credibility, but instead is simply trolling.
It's like going to the mozilla groups and saying that they should just
give up and let everyone use IE.

Is it my imagination or have you been absent from the group for a
while? Or have you just been lurking?

J. B. Moreno quotes Eowyn "All your words are but to say: you are a woman, and
your part is in the house. But when the men have died in battle and honour,
you have leave to be burned in the house, for the men will need it no more.
But I am of the House of Eorl and not a serving-woman. I can ride and wield
blade, and I do not fear either pain or death."<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: David Weber books are rubbish ! |

For like a couple years, perhaps?
Absent -- it got down to arguing about detailed nitpicking about
impossible technology, and i stopped reading/posting.
Actually, i mainly came back because i accidentally did a "Get
Headers" on the group and decided to see what was going on.

There are still outbreaks of that, see the current "How do you
defend against a missile pod equipped fleet?" thread. However,
there is more of that in the "Buships" conference on Baen's Bar.

Not very much, if truth be known.

So, it wasn't my imagination, you haven't been around as much...

I know what you mean, recently I mainly just scan the headers and mark
the group read...

Well, speaking as somebody practically reduced to lurking online since
I've been busy preparing for my qualifying exam, I still find it
worthwhile to scan this group when I can. Even at its worst, the
signal-to-noise ratio is still probably the best anywhere (present
thread excluded, of course ).
