For those who have spent recent weeks in Anarctica with the radio broken,
I'll mention that the US campaign for President is getting very active,
with major events coming up in Iowa and Vermont, which will greatly affect
the selection of candidates for the office; think, there's only a YEAR
till the actual election! (I refer, of course, to the formal voting of the
Electors who will choose the President, having themselves been chosen in
November, barely over 10 months away!!)

(I hope this description isn't regarded as partisan politics; I do not
know, or know *of*, one person on the planet who doesn't think this
arrangement stinks. As for its being of no interest outside of one
country: Ha Ha Ha; Alas.)

So, one of the contenders is Mike Huckabee, governor of Arkansas. The New
York Times reports an amusing incident in his campaign a couple of weeks
ago.

(the last few paragraphs)

Seems he was working a shopping mall, and a 7-year-old girl, one Aleya
Deatsch, asked him who his favorite author was. After due thought for an
appropriate answer for the circumstances, he replied, Dr. Suess. The Times
reports,

'In an interview afterward with the news media, Aleya said she was
somewhat surprised. She thought the candidate would be reading at a higher
level.

"My favorite author is C. S. Lewis," she said.'
