Boy, you know, it's easy to forget just how hard it is to put
*down* an Asimov book until you've been sorting things to put them
into mailing boxes and flip open (say) The Left Hand Of The Electron
and get lost in a discussion of mirror-asymmetric biochemicals.

There is hardly an F&SF Asimov science essay that I haven't read a half
dozen times. The only ones I'm missing are the early ones that never
got collected--I have all the later uncollected ones, and the last one,
"Of Human Folly," is a much better capstone than the hastily assembled
effort in his posthumous book.

Joseph:

If you enjoyed IA's essay about mirror-asymmetric chemicals you should
get yourself a copy of"The New Ambidextrous Universe" by Martin
Gardner. (ISBN 0-7167-2093-0).

Also making use of this point of physical chemistry is the novel by
Dorthy L. Sayers; "The Documents In The Case".
