I just found out Clive has made money and story donations to the Free the
West Memphis Three. As I feel these boys are guilty I am very upset about
this.I have boycotted Henry Rollins and Lemmy K. for the same reason.Am
curious to hear other opinions.

What sort of other opinion are you interested in hearing? Have you
seen the two movies? Why do you feel they are guilty?

I could offer a counter opinion but I don't want to get into some
vitrolic text war just "because".

I don't see it as much of an issue, and why boycott?
I don't know that much about it, but if they are guilty,
no matter how many tests etc. that are done from raised
money it will still show they are guilty, so its really a
moot point? Boycotting these fine artists for having thier
own views that is contrary to yours is stupid, and totally
unrelated to thier artwork.

Though i don't agree with the statement that by helping their legal
defense team raise funding (for forensic tests that were never done in
the first place) isn't going to help their case, you make a good point
here.

I think it's silly to boycott Clive just because he has an opinion. Do
you like his work, do you like to read his books? then take it at
that. He shouldn't have to live his life to please his fans.

Yup i probably didn't make myself clear, i think it will help thier
defences, i meant if you think they are guilty there shouldn't be any
problem doing extra testing as this will give extra evidence against
them, so really boycotting these artists is a moot point, and quite
a dumb thing to do IMHO.

Yup you should separate thier artwork from thier personal life,
appreciate what he is doing, and that he is trying to help people,
even if you disagree with his specific stance.

As someone who lives not too far from West Memphis, and who actually knows
(or rather knew) Judge David Burnett, I am fairly convinced the boys are not
guilty. What one saw in the movies of the people involved is not even 1/10th
of what the local news media aired.

The WM police dept were under enormous pressure to solve this case. They did
so, but the truth was unimportant to them.

I'm would like to think Clive has seen both movies and read Mara Leveritt's
book Devil's Knot : The True Story of the West Memphis Three, as well as
perusing the WM3 website before making up his mind. But even if he didn't,
he is, as others here have stated, entitled to his opinion. Just as you
would be in boycotting his work. But it would be your loss...
