I just Joined your group. Are there any people in the Houston Texas
Metropolitan area who would be interested to get a group started to
meet maybe once a month to share our common passion for these wonderful
books? Anybody interested could email me at LaranApPardyce.DeleteThis@yahoo.com

Welcome to our humble *ahem* group! I'm sure we've got a Texan or two
around here somewhere . . . Feel free to dive right in to any of the
discussions!

I'll say hello to the group as well, although I'm nowhere near Texas
(but we have bigger pints and gallons than Texans do!). I'm currently
re-reading the books in an odd order (usually I do it in "internal
chronology" order, but since CM is expected soon I'm leaving the first
of that series until later). In other news I have the Codex-II (didn't
get the first version, I didn't hear about it until they'd all sold).

Nope, wrong side of the Pond <g>. I'm on the right side, I'm British
(Cornish/Breton/Irish on my mother's side, descended from Saxons on my
father's).

(Yes, Imperial gallons. That lot over the little pond use litres, but
we still have cars which do miles per (Imperial) gallon...)

It's getting wintery over here so I decided to reread the books (for
some reason I think of them as 'winter' books, to be read with a large
mug of cocoa...

I looked in this group originally to see if anyone knew of an
arrangement of the "Adsum Domine" (the Healers' song), but before I got
round to asking about it I found Ed Stauff's one.

AD is one of my favorite hymns even before I read KK. part of why I
enjoy these is the rich
texture - I miss the old Latin High Mass.

i think of them as winter books too - I first read them in New
Hampshire - but I live in OC now where winter means sunset on the beach
at 6pm instead of 9pm

Julianne's little ears perk up and she asks "Musical arrangement? Of
the 'Adsum Domine'? Where? Where?"

Hmm, I don't know where my post went (or did I reply instead of
following up?):

http://www.mewsic.com/Ed/music/AdsumDomine/index.html

This has the complete thing as an MP3 played on organ (no choral
recording, unfortunately), and MP3s for the individual parts, and the
PDF (and Finale) score.

I've listened to the MP3 while reading the PDF score and singing the
bass part (sight-reading), it shouldn't be difficult for a group with
any experience to perform.

To get back to the original thread topic: One of our Houston members
email you, Laraniel, and never got a reply. Sad Her name is Rita.

To get back to the original thread topic: A houston Deryi-fan named
Rita emailed you over a week ago, Laraniel; last I heard, she was still
waiting for your reply.
