Hope no-one minds if I stick my head round the door to see what's going
on...

I've read the majority of Kerouac's book, a fair bit of Burroughs, some
Ginsberg, biographies of all three, and I also like a lot of later
authors whose style to some degree or another is influenced by beat
writing (Pynchon, Heller, HST, Vonnegut etc etc).

BUT... at the moment I'm working on a horror story (which is rapidly
trying to turn into a novel) half of which is set in New York, early
1950's. What I'm after is tiny details about the scene, the era,
clothes, brand names, favoured drinks, some not-too well known
locations etc. Anything of that kind.

It'd be much appreciated if any of you could come up with something
along those lines.

Cheers,

Sean.
