"Jeff" "DuckMan" who possibly has nothing to do with the linked site
and might not live in apt #207, posted "This *is* Kurt Vonnegut":

This has nothing to do with Kurt Vonnegut. This is spam.

Congratulations. You win the Lame Spammer Award, for spam which
presumes people would be so delighted at discovering a site did not
stand up and deliver ("This *is* Kurt Vonnegut") that they would
stick around and surf it anyway.

This Award comes in the shape of a corkscrew, suitable for placement
in the usual manner.

So far today dejagoogle reveals these posts to various newsgroups:

Guess we'd better get production cranked up in the corkscrew
factory. You're going to deserve a lot of them.

As DaveL points out--yep, this is spam, and came to my attention today. It's quite unfortunate--I don't need it, on any *number* of levels. If the poster to multiple groups felt their was something in my work readers of Vonnegut might enjoy, he/she certainly went about it in entirely the wrong way, to put it quite mildly.

Thanks to Dave for addressing this issue, and I hope the incident will not unduly reflect poorly on my publishers or myself, neither of whom had or would ever have anything to do with it. That goes to the spammer, too--one presumes you're either a fan of mine or you hate me. In either case, cut it out. Instant Karma's gonna getcha.

As I lifelong fan and casual friend of Kurt's, I find the spam all the more offensive. My apologies to all concerned.

Sincerely,

~Kevin McGowin
